If I may impose upon you, I'd like some advice. Would you mind telling me which are the more habitable neighborhoods of Pittsburgh. I read you response to a Fark article about cities in decline. I'm looking for a place to relocate to and you make Pittsburgh sound nice. For our purposes,"habitable" means "I can walk to a liquor store" and "no one will set fire to my car." I've lived in in DC and Oakland, CA, so I'm cool with living slightly ghetto, but I'm firm about the car fire thing. Thanks in advance,

Amanda

Amanda, allow me anyways to recommend Deustschtown! Affordable, livable, has a supermarket, a short walk to the rivers and to the Strip, only slightly ghetto but now we have a Rita's Italian Ice, a liquor store with the best security guard - sommelier in the whole system, no appreciable risk of car fires and no explosions since 2008!
